Het Circovirus is ook in de Benelux veranderd

Wereldwijd^1-2 en ook Europees³ gezien is PCV2d de meest voorkomende variant van het circovirus. Uit een inventariserend prevalentieonderzoek⁴ (2021) dat in de Benelux is uitgevoerd kwam naar voren dat PCV2d op bijna de helft van de onderzochte bedrijven voorkwam. Op bedrijven waar de onderzoekers (sub)klinische symptomen waarnamen, troffen zij opvallend vaak type PCV2d aan en bleven groei en uniformiteit achter.
